San Miguel de Allende: A town your eyes will never forget

Walking through a kaleidoscope of colors, filled with authentic art, vibrant food, doors to the unknown and a radiant energy filling the streets. As we accompanied many curious travelers, whom were passing through day by day, we felt safe, welcomed, and respected in the beautiful historic town. This is San Miguel de Allende.

Woke up in casa Air B&B. Cosimo took me upstairs to the rooftop terrace, where the sun was beginning to rise over the eastern sky. The sun filled us up on this beautiful clear morning. We park the car and begin our walking adventure! We are led by heart, into markets, shops, art galleries, and museums. The town is exploding with colors every step we take. The more we stumble upon the cobbled back roads, the more we get a taste of the vibrancy. The warm colors paint our hearts, as we soak up the authentic details of the old historical town.

The locals were very respectful to tourism and travelers such as ourselves, many smiles on faces as we wandered the streets. We capture moments, take rest stops for tea, indulge in street sweet treats, rooftop nap on the terrace, more tea time, and play in the colorful artsy shops. The town is a warm rainbow; as if all of my favorite colors threw up on the city and painted its skin with life. We walk on our path knowing that all those colors fill us up. We will continue to spill out our authentic colors every step we take.

Farming 101: How to tune into you

Breathe.

As you look around, what surrounds you?

What is alive?

Chickens scavenging, plants dancing, sunshine singing, the cold earth kissing your toes...

Move slow.

We take time to grow. Perhaps a whole life time and still, we are not done learning. Rather than exerting so much energy in controlling the uncontrolled, plant your seeds right now.

Where are your feet?

Look down. See them there? Grounded and planted.

Mind this moment now. This moment of pure presence.

The seed of creation is tickling your feet.

Dig deep. Get dirty. Uncover and discover.

Palo Santo; also known as "holy wood". Palo santo is native to the indigenous of South America. It is used as a type of smudging to cleanse and purify the energy and space we hold in and around us at every moment.

Just because we can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there. My "medicine" at every moment. When I light palo santo, I find myself rooted in the vortex of presence. Disintegrating all fears and negativity. Her presence opens me up to the place of vulnerability; clearing away the blockages, I can see clearly. Burn away the impurities of your soul so all of your atoms can run wild and free.

Intuition: When two dutch sisters follow their heart

Intuition, "a sudden immersion of the soul into the universal current of life where the histories of all people are connected", the super-power we hold (especially in  women) that makes the world go around. We are capable on an individual level and as a community, to tune into our super-power, feel it resonating within, and follow it.

Farrieda (@farriedasmit), Dutch-Moroccan, born in the south of Holland, and Danielle, California girl, Dutch-Indonesian; both sisters, a child of the world, a product of the infinite abundant flow of energy that exists in this universe. Every cell, every creature, every life form, has a certain depth. Like a flower, it is a woman’s nature to explore that depth; to dig her roots deep and to discover the true nature that exists within.

Follow your gut instinct.

Lead with your heart.
